    Word, Excel and PowerPoint into PDF, PDF back into an editable Word document — and pictures into PDF, on every plan.

    Choose a file

    One file at a time. The conversion runs on our servers.

    PDF into Word is the hard direction. A PDF stores positioned glyphs, not paragraphs, so what comes back is genuinely editable but is not your original Word file. Text-heavy reports do well; multi-column layouts, complex tables and anything scanned do badly. Your file is uploaded for this, then deleted as soon as the job finishes.

    Translate a PDF

    The same document in another language, translated page by page — Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese. Your plan includes a monthly page allowance.

    Choose the file

    One PDF at a time. It is translated on our servers and the upload is deleted within the hour.

    What you get, honestly. The translation is set page for page as clean readable text — it does not imitate the original layout, and your original file is never changed. Scanned pages hold no selectable text: they are carried through with a note (run OCR first if you need them). What counts against your monthly allowance is the true page count of the document.

    Compress a PDF

    Scans and photo-heavy files shrink to a fraction of their size. Text stays text, comments are kept. Lock the result with a key afterwards if you want to.

    Choose the file

    One PDF at a time. It is rewritten on our servers and deleted the moment the job finishes.

    What changes and what does not. Pictures inside the file are resampled to the resolution you pick, fonts are trimmed to the characters used, and repeated pictures are stored once. Text stays selectable and comments stay in place. Fillable form fields come out as their printed appearance. A locked file must be unlocked first. If the file is already as small as it can get, you are told so and get it back unchanged.

    Lock a PDF

    Real AES-256 encryption. Without the key there is nothing to read — not a permissions flag that any tool can strip.

    Your key is yours alone — we do not keep a copy, so save it somewhere safe.

    Copy the key somewhere safe before you download. It is generated in your browser, used once to encrypt the file, and then gone. Nobody here keeps a copy and nobody here can recover it. A locked PDF with a lost key is a lost document — that is what makes the lock worth having.

    Compare two PDFs

    Two passes over both files: the words, and the pixels. One tells you what changed, the other tells you that something moved.

    Comparing runs on our servers, so unlike the rest of PDF-OPS these two files are uploaded. They are deleted the moment the comparison finishes, and the report an hour later.

    Free is for the quick fix: turn, merge, split and tidy a handful of documents, sign a form, tick a box — done in the browser, no account, no fuss.

    Plus is the full toolkit, for less than a coffee a month: Word, Excel and PowerPoint in and out of PDF, compare two versions side by side, lock with AES-256, compress to the size you need, translate into six languages, share a document live with ten people, and send it out for signature — unlimited documents, no adverts.

    Pro is for the professional whose documents are the job. Everything in Plus, plus the tools Plus does not have: Pro edit — click any word already printed on a page and move it, retype it or delete it — live sharing with up to a hundred people, signatures without limits with up to twenty co-signers, twelve times the translation, two hundred pictures at a time, and files of five thousand pages.

    1. Open

    Drop in a PDF, a scan, a photo or an Office document. Several at once if you like — they line up as one workspace, pages in the order you choose.

    2. Work

    Turn, merge, split, remove. Write on the page: text, ticks, crosses, a signature, highlights, comments and colour-matched cover-ups. Convert, compare, lock, compress and translate on Plus. On Pro, take hold of the words already printed on the page with Pro edit — move them, retype them, delete them — and share a live document with up to a hundred people.

    3. Deliver

    Download a finished PDF, send it out for signature and get the signed copy back in your account, or share it live and work on it together. Every result is checked before it reaches you, so what you download is what you saw.

    What we keep, what we use it for, and for how long.

    Your documents

    A document you work on is yours. When a tool needs our service to do its job — converting, comparing, locking, compressing, translating, sharing or sending for signature — the file is processed for that job and then removed. Documents you choose to keep in your account, such as envelopes you send for signature and the signed copies that come back, stay there until you delete them.

    Your account

    With an account we keep your e-mail address, a protected form of your password, the profile details you choose to enter, your plan and billing status, and a record of what you did with the service so your account page can show it. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see your card number.

    Free use without an account

    To count the free allowance fairly we keep a short-lived, anonymous identifier derived from your connection and browser. It is used for counting only.

    Advertising

    The free tools carry adverts from Google AdSense. Google sets cookies and may use identifiers to choose which adverts to show and to measure them; Google’s own policy governs that data. Where the law requires it you will be shown a consent prompt first, and you can opt out of personalised advertising in your Google settings. Paid plans show no adverts.

    Your rights

    You can see and edit your details on your account page, and delete your account there at any time — which removes it and everything kept under it. For anything else, write to us from the Contact page.

    Children

    This site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13.

    Reporting a problem

    The useful details are: which browser and version, which operation you ran, and what the file looked like — number of pages, roughly how big, whether it was scanned. Please do not send the document itself; we cannot open it and would rather not receive it.
